Kirkland Visit

The last of our visitors were our dear friends, Matt, Erika & Baby Felix! It was so nice to have them here to meet Elliot! They're also pretty experienced with the whole baby thing since Felix is just 6 months old. Here's a few pics of the boys together - already little buddies!

Up High!

While Brad's brothers & Kate were visiting we decided to go up to the top of the Sear's (now Willis) Tower. Recently, new sky boxes made all of glass were added at the top of the tower. In my opinion, it is pretty scary, but I was reassured everything was safe. Needless to say, this next shot had me nervous & embarrassingly I did cry a little. I guess I'm officially a mother?!?

Grammy & Grandpa Lewis visit!

Grammy & Grandpa Lewis came to visit at the beginning of March! We appreciated all the help they gave us with housework, cooking & taking care of Elliot. One night they took turns staying up with him so Brad & I could get some serious sleep! We really welcomed the sleep and I think they enjoyed hanging out with the little guy while he slept!

Out for a stroll

First stroller ride & he slept through the whole thing!

He Descended into Hell

A little late with this one. The axe image obviously reflects the previous tree and stump ideas, but also tied into a theme from the sermon: that Jesus took on death and hell intentionally. They were his purpose, not something he suffered through in order to emerge at a better place. This way, we can think of Christ as confronting death and hell armed for battle.

By the way, if anyone is looking for an expensive, impractical, and probably dangerous gift for me, I've always wanted an axe named COURAGE. Matt wants one too.

Grandma Carol Visit

Grandma Carol came to help out the Saturday after Elliot was born and stayed for 10 days. She was a huge help with everything from cleaning, finishing my baby sewing projects & giving breast feeding pointers. While my mom was in town, Elliot went on some of his first outings - Xoco, our favorite Rick Bayless restaurant, an art gallery show, and to church.

Grandma and Brad made a 2-sided little boy Boppy cover for Elliot!
They did an awesome job!
